What is Curo and where does it come from?
Curo is a naturally occurring pristine alkaline water bottled at the source in the Blue Mountains in NSW, Australia.
As a World Heritage listed area we know that this area will be permanently protected and preserved. We pump our water from underground limestone caves that are deep below the Earth’s surface. The water picks up healthy minerals as it is naturally filtered through the rock formations in an area that is surrounded by wildlife and lush mountains, where electricity doesn’t exist and humans rarely tread.
Curo is also classified as a mineral water or hard water. A report released by the AIBA and AWA said that the best tasting waters have a mineral content between 250mg/L to 500mg/L while water over 500mg/L becomes harsh and difficult to consume.
Curo has a mineral content of 363mg/L and offers a far superior, soft mouth-feel which will keep you coming for more.
What is alkaline water?
If you remember back to high school chemistry, we’re taught two basic terms – acidity and alkalinity. These terms are used to describe where a substance sits on the pH scale. pH stands for Potential of Hydrogen and is a scale that ranges from 0-14. Basically, any substance with a pH under 7 is considered to be acidic, over 7 is considered to be alkaline and 7 is neutral. Hence, alkaline water is water is used to describe water with a pH over 7.
How does Curo differ from other spring waters?
The majority of spring waters available on the market are characterised by low mineral content and high acidity. Consuming acidic water causes a pH imbalance towards the acidity scale which must be compensated by consuming food or water with alkaline minerals. Curo is a pure alkaline water that helps you to eliminate acidic waste and it is not spoiled by additives or harmful manufacturing processes.
How does Curo differ from other alkaline water?
The main benefit of alkaline water comes from the naturally occurring alkaline minerals i.e. calcium, bicarbonate, magnesium. Unlike other brands, Curo is rich in these minerals to help flush out toxins effectively. Many brands are actually filtered tap water put through a process called ionisation. This is an unnatural process that alters the crystalline structure of water molecules. When this occurs, it affects your body’s ability to recognise it as a natural product. It’s akin to comparing a raw vegetable to cooked – it’s still the same vegetable but not to your body. Just as cooking vegetables causes lost enzymes and vitamins, processing water is harder to absorb.
Why is Curo better than tap or filtered water?
Tap water tests more alkaline than most spring waters but contains toxic chemicals such as fluoride and chlorine. In Australia we add silicofluorides into our water supply which are 85 times more toxic than calcium fluoride and is known to cause Alzheimer’s disease amongst other illnesses1.
Filtered water may eliminate most of the fluoride in tap water, however its primary purpose is to take minerals out of tap water – not add them to the water. Depending on the filter used, many test acidic creating more acidic waste in our body. Curo is naturally alkaline and does not contain any added fluoride.
